WEST KALIAN CONSUMPTION CURE

PERTH, November 24. The Minister of Health announces that Paget’s so-called consumption cure is a failure. It was submitted to the British Medical Association, members of which watched the treatment for three months. No patient showed improvement; one died ; and all but one were distinctly worse. The so-called cure consisted of snuffing a tuberculosis material through the nose. Dr Paget’s first intention was to proceed to America, as ho could not obtain facilities in West Australia. Apparently, however, this difficulty was overcome, as the Ministry promised the discoverer every facility for carrying out his tests.
