BANK 0F N.S. WALES

SYDNEY, November 27. The Bank of New South Wales’s halfyearly report shows that the net profits are £246,323. Owing to the war the cash and coin balances have increased in London by £1,600,000, and in Australasia by £BOO,OOO. The note circulation in New Zealand has slightly increased. The dominion Government’s measures for relieving financial stringency and enlarging the use of individual bank notes proved satisfactory. The bank was never in a better position to meet an unexpected state of affairs. The balance available for distribution is £315,729, including £69,405 brought forward. A dividend of 10 per cent, is recommended, £50,000 is to be added to the reserve fund, and £90,727 carried forward.
