NEW ZEALAND TRADE
LONDON, November 21. Mr Wickham, Imperial Trade Commieioner in New Zealand, in his report on New Zealand trade for 1913, states that imports show a distinct improvement, although there is an unsatisfactory loss of trade in certain lines, noticeably British hardware and holloware, as the result of which America will be the chief gainer. There is a marked growth in the importation of boots and shoes, iron and steel. Mr Wickham condemns the practice of manufacturers of employing a single agent for Australasia, this resulting in the inefficient covering of a large area.
