Mr Byron Brown denies that he expressed his willingness to abide by the_ voting of the Reform candidates if Mr Field undertook to do likewise in connection with his candidature for the Otaki seat. CHRISTCHURCH, October 5. Mr J. C. Free, of Southbridge, has been selected by a conference ot Liberals to contest the Ellesmere seat. (From Oun Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, October 4. The selection of Air Field was practically unanimous, as he received the votes of 14 out of 15 delegates. Air Bryon Brown re ceiving only one vote. When the motion was put to the ballot Air Field was unanimously selected.
