By far the meet severe frost of the season was' experienced at Hastings on Sunday night. The ground was white.. Milk standing overnight was transferred into veritable icecream. Farmers \ tjie Waitara district are busy winter feeding. Turnips arc said to be fairly good throughout the district, and stock should come on well for the coming season. A very large amount of basic slag and other fertilisers is being used for topdressing.
