BRAVE SAILORS KILLED

NEW YOEK, June 16,

The British oilship Sanvalere, which has arrived at Philadelphia, reports the loss of six of her crew. When the vessel sprang a leak these six volunteered to enter the poisonous gas that was generated in the hold to rescue a comrade who was overcome while working there. The first mate, Elliott, entered the bow hold, and while seeking the leak was overcome. Four Englishmen and one Finn followed, all trying to rescue Elliott, but all died.

Their bodies were buried in the sand dunes near Tuxpan (Mexico), off which the accident occurred.
