COUNTERFEIT COINS.
A WEAK-MINDED OFFENDER. HAMILTON, June 18
Frederick Aaron Smith, in whose wh.uo at Hairini a complete set of excellent moulds, stamps, and counterfeit coins were found last week, appeared before Mr Justice Edwards in the Supremo Court to-day. Counsel for accused, who pleaded guilty, said that while in infanev Smith suffered an injury which affected his brain, and his mind wag like that of a child’s. Accused did not understand the seriousness cho charge Ho said the fairies showed Jffm how to make silver and gold from tin. Dr Reekie corroborated this statement.
His Honor said it would probably bo ■ wrong to send accused to gaol, and ordered ? lifm to pay costs and come up for sentence { when called on.
