RITUAL MURDER TRIAL
ST. PETERSBURG, November 17. Beilish, although acquitted, is still virtually imprisoned, not being allowed to leave the house he is in, which soldiers continually guard. The Government is considering the question of an appeal, while the Black Hand garj threatens to murder Beilish. The latter is inundated with music-hall offers, and a firm of Chicago film makers have offered him £2OOO to pose for a series of pictures. His acceptance, however, is most unlikely. The members of a wealthy committee of local Jews are providing for the future of Beilish. When interviewed, Beilish said he had been treated abominably while in prison. For 30 months he was kicked and beaten by his gaolers, and the authorities seemed anxious for him to die.
