A CASE OF INCENDIARISM.

AUCKLAND, November 19. What appears to be a deliberate attempt to .burn Campbell and Ehrenfried’s malthouse, at Newmarket, was made last night. At 7.45 the woodwoik of the kiln was found to be ignited. The fire brigade was called and the flames extinguished. After tho brigade had left a further outbreak was discovered among gome sacks of clinker, 20yds from the previous outbreak. This having been extinguished, the police were called, and they discovered that the building had been visited surreptitiously by the removal of wire netting from the windows which had been left open in order to allow the malt to dry. The damage is trivial, but in the room over spot where the second fire occurred £3OOO worth of malt was stored.
