ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE.

A very pleasant social gathering to mark the close of the year’s work was held at the Dominion Tea-rooms by the members of the Dunedin Nursing Division and the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Musical items were rendered by Miss Mary (iibnour, Miss E. Beadle, and Mr J. Bone, and recitations by Mies Healey and Mr T. Thomson, j During the evening Mr Bone, on behalf of the Nursing Division, presented Miss Hooper with a gold bangle as a token ; of esteem, and referred to her long connection with the division and to tiro work accomplished in connection with tho St. John ambulance work in this city. ! Miss Hooper, who has been connected with the division since its inception in 1895, and for 12 years lady superintendent, | thanked those present for the beautiful gift, which sho said would serve as a re--1 minder of their work together. She trusted j they would hold together in tho future as j they had done in the past. Sho thanked | the officers for their loyalty and help i during her term of office, and assured the | division that they were being left in good ; hands under their new lady superintendent • (Mrs Forrester), who would be ably sup--1 ported by the officers. | Mr W. M. Wilkinson, superintendent of j the St. John Ambulance Brigade, prei sonted Misses Hooper and J. Stewart each | with a fountain pen in appreciation of | the help given them at their winter nursing j lectures. Both ladies suitably replied. I The singing of “ Auld Lang Syne ” I brought an enjoyable evening to a dose.
