DUNEDIN SAILORS’ REST.
Mr A. R. Falconer, who has for many years aoted as missionary to the seamen, has found it necessary through failing health to relinquish the work which has been so dear to him. The Women’s Christian Temperance Union, which has for a long period been responsible for the management of the Rost, has therefore had to appoint a successor, and is glad to be able to state that it has found one who will be a worthy Xucceesor to Mr Falconer. Mr R. Robert-
son, of Glasgow, has been appointed to the office, and will take up his now duties at once. It is believed by those who have the management of the Rest that Mr Robertson is well qualified by his wide experience of life and Christian work to win the respect and confidence, not only of the sailors, but of the public generally. At the present time the work is urgently in need of funds. It is proposed to provide teas for the crows of vessels visiting the harbour, and any donations for this object
and the support of tho work generally may bo forwarded to Mr R. Robertson, at the Rest. Magazines and periodicals will be gratefully received. All communications with regard to the work among tho sailors and offers of assistance from ministers and Christian workers generally should also be sent to tho Rest.
