GRAFT SCANDALS
NEW YORK, November 14,
A new graft organisation, involving several police officials, has been discovered by District Attorney Whitman. The gang operate*! by “ wire-tapping ” methods, pretending that they rued wireless telegraphy, in order to secure important news for blackmail and other purposes. One woman has confessed to losing £OO,OOO, and other confessions are expected. In each instance the police have secured 10 per cent, of the proceeds of the rw indie.
