Tho morning was bright, but a strong south-west wind proved very disconcerting for the competitors. Notwithstanding this, B. J. Smith went round in 79, a very creditable performance. In the afternoon tho wind fortunately died away, and tho second round was played under ideal conditions. Smith returned a similar score in the afternoon and won th<j Bruntsfield Medal with a score of 158. His nearest opponent was J. R- Park, with 169. The handicap in connection with the morning round resulted in a tie between F. J. Du Croz (85—5-80) and E. H. Wilrnot (104 24—80), and Andrew Todd won the afternoon handicap with a round of 82, lees a handicap of 6, leaving a not score of 76. Tho best cards for the two rounds were:
