The Lake Coleridge correspondent of the Press reports a somewhat serious affair which .took place at the works on Wednesday afternoon. According to his report a travelling jeweller from Christchurch (S. M. Din) was surrounded by a group of men, and his bag of jewellery, said to be worth £2OO, was taken from him, and when ho attempted to recover it he woe badly knocked about. The matter was reported to the police, and inquiries are being made.
