TUG CAPSIZED.

BRISBANE, October 24.

As the steamer Kyarra was proceeding up the channel the tug Chesterfield, which intended to assist her, attempted to get across the Kyarra’s bows to take a line from her.

The Kyarra touched the tug, with disastrous results. The impact turned the tug over, and she went to the bottom keel uppermost. Five men were aboard the Chesterfield, of whom A. Roberts, the engineer, and G. Birkenhead, the fireman, were in the engine room. These two men were drowned. The other three men were on deck, and though thrown into the water, they wore rescued. ,
