Mi- E. Pritchard last week received the particulars of an incident that bcfel hia brother Arthur at Ohangaiti (says the Woodville Examiner). Ho is working at a sawmill there, and when returning homo on Monday evening at dusk ho was attacked by a man, who jumped up from behind a log and struck him on the head j.'il, b<av it'eV 'i-Jhni- romomhfrs seeing a second man there, but no more, and when he regained consciousness at 9 o’clock he found himself dose to the cliff with a drop of fully 100 ft. He had a narrow escape, but he has no idea if the men rifled bis pockets or not, but he did not have Any money on him at the, time. Ho managed to crawl home, where he received medical attention.
