With reference to the paragraph which appears elsewht-re concerning the experience of a Dunedin motor launch proprietor on Lake Wakatipu on Friday night, the owner of the launch, Mr W. Waters, informs us that the only damage sustained by iho boat was a bent propeller and shaft and a split plank. Repairs were effected on Saturday morning, and the cra!t won the launch race, of six miles, in the afternoon, defeating the well-known Kelvin. On Tuesday afternoon, Mr S. Pickard, of JSouthbrook, had a trap horse killed bv lightning. When the storm camo on he had just, taken the horse out of the trap tatving the harness on and covering thfl animal with a horse-rug. It appears vrvat the lightning was attracted bv a buckle on the bridle, end it made a mark right along the horse's body.
