Number 6 of The Rour.d Table keeps well up to the standard which the promoters had in view when the review was launched. Being, as tho title states, a quarterly review of the politics of tha British Empire, all the articles —which, by the w*v, are contributed anonymously—dlewl with questions affecting Great Britain and its dependencies. The principal article is on ''The Balkan Danger and Universal Peace,'" tho opinion of the writer being that war in the Near East, while not inevitable, is not in the least improbable, and that the most important result of it, should it come, would bo the opporttmi y that Russia have for a further approach to the Persian Gulf. The other leading articles are "Lombard Street and War,' •' The Declaration of London," a contributed article written from tho point of view of those who approvo of the Prize Court Convention and the Declaration; and a short but interesting article on "An Early Maritime Confederacy," dealing with the history of tho confederation of Delos, which afterwards became the Athenian Empire. Tho polities of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, South Africa, and Vew Zealand, are all commented upon in their special sections, the New Zealand articles being concerned chiefly with the results of the recent elections Tho New South Wales Bookstdl Co. (Ltd.). Sydney, has secured tho right of publishing certain American bo-;ks in cheap editions, and forward a copy of the first of the series. ,; Wliat's His Name?" by George Burr M'Cutchcon ; Is edition. The whole of the work of printing ha? b:en done locally, and reflects every credit on the printers.
