SYDNEY, January. 10,

Information has been received that messages sent from tli3 new Pennant Hills wireless station have been heard at Java, a distance of 4500 miles.

The wireless operator at Sydney repeats his assertion that he heard 11.M.5. Encounter talking to I)r Mawson's expedition at Macquarie Island on January 1. He affirms that he heard several questions asked, but was unable to distinguish the replies.
