TAVIUXI ROUGHLY HANDLED

SYDNEY, January 15.

The Union Company's steamer Taviuni, which arrived from Samoa to-day, encountered terrific weather. Her boats were carried away, and her railings and deck fittings smashed and washed overboard. It was the worst hurricane experienced in the Islands for years.
