LONDON, December 31. The 'bank clearances for the year amounted to £304.483,435, as compared with £274,343,665 last year. The leading Kaffir and Rhodesian companies have depreciated £27,500,003 in six months. The Economist estimates the capital issue this year at £191,759,400; whereof the United Kingdom took £26,145.900, Australia £3,332,900, Canada £41,214,700, the Argentine £16,676,900, Brazil £19,210,600, and the United States £21,314,300.
