SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLITICS

ADELAIDE, December 27. In the South Australian Assembly the Premier announced that the Government had decided upon definite steps to enforce the rights of the House of Assembly. hie moved an adjournment until January 3, to enable the Government to confer fully with the Governor. The motion was carried. December 29. It was reported at the Trades Hall last night that the Premier (Mr Verran) asked the Governor (Sir H. Day Boeanquet) to grant him a dissolution, but that his Excellency refused the request unless Ministers obtained Supply to carry on the services of the State. The Premier has since been communicating by cable with the Imperial Government, but with what result will not be disclosed until Parliament reassembles on Wednesday next.
