BATHING TRAGEDY

THREE YOUTHS DROWNED. SYDNEY, January 1. Three youths were drowned at Como today while bathing. Edward Ostenfeld started to swim across the river, but when half-way over he threw up his hands and disappeared. Oscar Macalpine and Roy Coleman dived after him, and also disappeared. A fourth member of the party notified the police. The bodies have not been recovered. Albert Davis, the survivor, has not been seen since he informed the police.
