THE BRITISH NAVY.
r RECENT CHANGES CRITICISED. LONDON, December 12. Speaking at Leicester, Lord Charles Beresford ridiculed the recent changes in the Admiralty. Officers had been dismissed with less notice than was given to domestic servants. The country ought to know the reasons for the dismissal of men in their prime, and with experience behind them. Mr Churchill had started badly, and with a bad blunder. He needed much watching. Lord Charles said we ought to be able to come to an agreement with Germany, while fearlessly stating our intention to maintain the command of the sea. December 13. In the House of Commons Mr Churchill, in reply to a question, said the supply of service ammunition was never below 98 per cent, of the full outfit, and the coal supply was never below two-thirds of its full" supply. The fleet was at all times ready for action.
