DRAUGHT HORSE STUD BOOK.

DETAILS OF PREPARATION. CHRISTCHURCH, December 13. It was reported at a meeting of the General Committee of tbe A. and P. Association to-day that a meeting of the committee and delegates representing tbe different districts of New Zealand, was held on Wednesday, November 8, when the following business was transacted : (1) The meeting affirmed the desirability of there being one stud book of draught horses for New Zealand; (2) the delegates appointed representing tho North and South Islands are as follow : Auckland and Waikato —Mr R. H. Rhodes; Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa, Gisbome, and Wairoa, Mr W. P. Archibald; west coast of North Island and Taranaki to New Plymouth,' Mr A. Alexander; Southland, Mr Paterson; Otago, Mr Jas. Gow; Noith Otago, one to be appointed; Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast, one to be appointed. (3) It was agreed that the existing Draught Horse Stud Rook Committee, together with the delegates appointed by the provisional council, and the delegates from other parts of New Zealand, to be appointed for a term of three years; (4) it was agreed that local A. and P. associations throughout • New Zealand be asked to appoint a Horse Committee to advise the Editing Committee re any entries from their districts which may be referred to them for scrutiny; (5) that a circular be sent to breeders to find out what support would be given to the publication of a revised volume containing the volumes now out of print; (6) the division of entries into sections for Clydesdales, Shire, Suffolk, and other pedigreed stock not eligible for above was approved of; (7) that the rules of entry of draught stock will stand as at present until the 31st March, 1912, after which no entry will be received unless the sire and dam of the animals be registered in some recognised stud book; (8) that in all entries the distinctive markings of the animal must be described.
