BRISBANE, December 13 % A' bottle was picked up near Mac Kay containing a note from the lost Yongala, which reads as follows : —"Terrible storm, 8.30 p.m. It's a case of good-bye.— (Signed) J. West, C Cook." West was chief cook of the Yongala, and it is supposed the letter C stands for chief. SYDNEY, December 14.

The officials regard the Yongala bottle incident as a hoax. The writing will be compared with the chief cook's signature to the ship's articles.
