PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS

SYDNEY, October 17,

Speaking at Bathurst, Mefsrs Carr and Hollis, Federal and State Labour members respectively, practically declared against preference to unionists. Mr Carr said that the Government could not compel it even by an act of Parliament, and Mr Hollis said that no union had a right to seek preference unless its members constituted the majority of those employed.
