THE LATE MR BATCHELOR
LONDO'N, October 9. The newspapers regret the death of Mr Batchelor, Minister of External Affairs for the Commonwealth. The Pall Moll Gazette says that his frankness, united with his common sense and cool judgment, impressed all' the members of the Imperial Conference. MELBOURNE, October 10. The Federal Parliament adjourned to day out of respect to the memory of the late Mr Bachelor. * October 12. The. Senate adjourned out of respect to the late Mr Batchelor's memory- Mr BatcheloT's last official act was to sign the special gazette notice proclaiming the neutrality of the Commonwealth in the Turco-Italian war. ADELAIDE, October 11. A large and representative gathering attended the late Mr Batehelor's funeral at Adelaide. Thousands of people lined the route, and the signs of mourning were general.
