DR. MAWSON'S EXPEDITION

SYDNEY, September 28. Owing to the enthusiastic manner in which Australia is endorsing hie exploration scheme, Dr Mawson may decide to extend the scope of the expedition. Already he has over £40,000 in hand, and he new intends to raise the limit of sub-, sorptions to £50,000. If this amount is forthcoming, he proposes to establish four instead of three bases (the fourth being at Maequarie Island, where a wireless station will be erected) and otherwise strengthen the expedition.
