EDUCATION BOARD'S ACTION

INVERCARGILL, April 7. The Education . Board to-day carried a motion, of which notice had been given, to the effect that, in consistence with the board's policy and in view of the increased facilities for study, all positions in the board's service held by uncertificated teachers be advertised for fresh application on April 1, 1912, exemption being granted to (a) teachers who have now been more than 'two years in the service, (b) teachers who have" obtained the partial D since January, 1909, (c) teachers who- hold

licerA'ss to teach, (d) teachers who have spent two years in the Training College between January, 1909, and April, 1912, and teachers under grade O. The board, further resolved that similar action ba taken oil April 1 in each succeeding year.
