THE BAGDAD RAILWAY
CONSTANTINOPLE, March 18. The Porte has agreed to allow the Bag clad Railway Company to extend the line to Bagdad. The company renounces its lien ov«r 4 per cent, of the increase iu Customs duties, receiving instead a security upon the Empire's general revenues. The company will build a blench line from Osmanich to Alexandretta, and will construct a harbour at Alexandretta.
Reuter'e Constantinople correspondent reports that the company has agreed to The Porte arranging for the construction of the Bagdad-Persian Gulf section of the line, on the basis of Germany having equal participation with any ioreign Power.
