In the Hawke’s Bay golf championship tournament the semi-finals were played today, when Kopi Tareha (Napier) beat C. Gore (Wellington) and H. B. Lusk (Christchurch) beat W. G. Wood (Napier). The final will be played to-morrow. The Bogey Handicap was won by D. Banks (Hastings), the stroke competition by Dr Harvey (Napier), the 'Williams Cup by Napier No. 1 team, the second Bogey Handicap by D. M'Cormick (Dunedin), and the Foursomes bv H. E. Trout-back (Napier) and Dr Webster (Wellington). September 18. The final for the Hawke’s Bay Golf Championship was played on Saturday between H. B. Lusk (Christchurch) and Kapi Tareha (Napier). After a close and interesting contest Lusk won by 2 up and 1 to play. A professional match between J. M. Herd (Napier) and J. Clements (Christchurch) was won by Clements by 3 up and 2 to play.
