JAPAN-BRITISH EXHIBITION.

NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. (Fbom Oub Own Correspondent.)

LONDON, July'22. Prince Arthur of Oonnaught presumed on Fridav over a large and distinguished company which assembled in the Congress Hall at the White City to witness the distribution of the first instalment of awards adjudicated by the superior jury of the Japan .- British Exhibition. The diplomas to the British exhibitors were presented by Baron Oura president of the Imperial Japanese Commission to the Exhihition, while the Duke of Norfolk handed the awards to the Japanese exhibitors. Sir Wihiam and Lady Hall-Jones represented the Dominion, and Mr H. C. Cameron (Produce Commissioner) was also present. During the procs'sdings Prince Arthur read the following telegram he had received from the King:—"l heartily congratulate vou and the committee upon the success ot the Exhibition, and I fully recognise that the excellent results are largely due to the valuable services rendered by those entrusted with the Exhibition and the carrying out of this undertaking."
