ALLEGED CONSPIRACY

NEW YORK, May 24. Oliver Spitzer, ex-dock superintendent for a sugar trust firm, whom President Taft pardoned, has been released from prison. He testified, in the trial at New York of Charles R. Heike, treasurer of the trust, on a charge of conspiracy to defraud the Customs, that signals were used to warn the weighers of the Government inspector's approach, and l correct weights were then taken for a time. This testimony did not involve Heike directly, but it bore heavily against Gerbracht, the superintendent of the Williamsburg refinery, who is also on trial.
