THE ALBANIAN RISING

LONDON, May 23. An Albanian nobleman, who was serving in the Turkish army, having joined the rebels, was captured, and condemned for desertion. Mirza Bey refused to excuse the nobleman's son, a member of the Uskub garrison, from joining the firing party that was told off to shoot the prisoner. The son accordingly shot in the air. Mirza then had him arrested, and the son committed suicide by hanging himself in his cell. The Albanians are indignant, and Mirza Bey has been removed to another garrison.
