The Education Settlement Committee, has published hn scheme. It proposes that the schools in one-school areas should be voluntarily transferred to the 'State, two years being allowed 1 for negotiation, af a fair rental; the denominational school to be retained in m'i-yn areas, with teachers in harmony with the distinctive character of the schools, but with fuli rights to the children to receive cthei religious instruction if the parents so desire. If the parents of 150 children are willing to build a'nd maintain the school building, the 1oc»a authority will be obliged to recognise such new denominational schools.
