ALLEGED CONSPIRACY

MELBOURNE, May 24,

The State Attorney-general has decided to file a presentment against Robert Harper, William Harper, Wm. Brockett, and Walter Kemp (solicitor), charging them with conspiracy in connection with .the Ronald-Harper case.. The other accused in connection with the case are Patrick Hill and Huxley.

May 30.

The Harper conspiracy case has opened. Hill protested that he had already been tried and sentenced for the same offence. Mr Justice Hood and the jury, however, held that Hill had been sentenced for inducing other people to do a wrong act, and the present indictment was for doing a wrong act himself. He will therefore stand his trial with the other accused.
