The mine manager reports that the Ro?s Goldfie!d->' pumps continue to work eniowthly. Tlie claim Ls now unwatered to a d^pth of 220 ft. It is expecteci tliat the 250 ft level v. ill be reached next week. Half of the a\ailahlo pumping power is •■till prov-ing sufficient to cope wilh the \sater. The work of lifting out the old pump columns is ei\ing more trouble than rhe unwatering. The heavy paitn of the old plant, however, ha\e now been sent to tho surface. Although it has been ( submerged for more than 22 years it is in ; a splendid slate of preservation.
