INVERCARGILL, June 21.

A very pretty wedding took place at St. John's Church on Wednesday, 16th, v.-hen Miss Mary Corbett iras married -to- Mr Cecil Tarjjey, both of this. town. The Veil. Archdeaccn Stocker officiated. The bride, who was given ay.-ay by her father, wore a, «oft white silk dress, travr ed, bedice much trimmed with white chiffon. She wore t-he customary veil and orange blos=oms. «mc! carried a handsome shower bouquet of ■violet?. hellebore. an 4 maiden-hair fern. ha-t. C. Armstrong was best man. Mrs Taj ley, ruotter of the bridegroom, was wearing black, with black and white bonnet; Miss F. Corbet t, green coat and. skill, black bat; Misses H. and B. Corbett, navy blue costumes ; Mrs P. L. Wright, mole cloth directoire costume, very becoming hat of mole straw, with touches of pink; Mrs C. A. Morris, navy blue taffetas, bodice lelieved with white, black hat. Among the guests were Dr and Mxs Cantrell, Mr H. Tapley (Dunedin), Mr C. A. Morris, Mr and Mrs P. B. Macdonald, Mrs Slocker, Miss Stccker. After the ceremony the guests proceeded t-> the residence of the bride s father at Appleby. Mr and Mrs Tapley left by ihe afternc on tram for Riverton. The bride's gcing aw.ay d:ess was a green and black striped, coat and skirt, black hat with black feathers. On Thursday evening Mrs Hogg gave a delightful diance for her sister, Miss Ruby Miller, at her residenco, iDon street,. The midwinter show of the Southland A. and P. Association, which took place in theZealandia. Hs,H on, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, attracted a. very large number of country visitors to Invercargill. On Wednesday the hall, both afternoon and evening, was crowded to its utmost capar city, and it was difficult to move from one exhibit to another. . The display in all classes was a record one, aud Southianders ha/d etvery reason to feel proud of the resources of their district. The Government exhibit was a particularly attractive i cne. Dr and Mrs Hogrg returned from Melbourne on Monday. Mrs Hogg has been spending a year ia England and "on the Continent. Mrs Sleigh is ihe guest of Mrs Hogg. Miss T. Collins returned from England on Monday Mrs P. Wright, who has been spendirg a few days in town, returned to Dunedin on Friday. The Rev. Mr Swinburn and Mrs Swinburn, of.
