EXTENSIONS AT KRUPPS
LONDON, June 18. The Standard, from an authoritative source, quotes a letter dated 11th May, 1906, informing the Admiralty of the fact that enormous expenditure was in progress at Krupps for tlie purpose of manufacturing 'arge naval guns and mountings quickly, and adding: "These extensions will give the possibility of an outjmt far in excess of the whole capacity of Britain." The scheme must either be for the immense future requirements for Germany or that Krupps mean to secure the whole armament trade of the world outside the few Great Powers who build for themselves. In the House of Commons Mr M'Kenna, in reply to Mr J. T. Middlemore, said that the Admiralty waa first aware early in 1906 that Krupps' works were being extended. The expansion and progress had been continuing ever since.
