PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

The regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula Road Board was held on the sth inst., and was attended by Messrs M'Ourdy (chairman), Brunton, Black, Gaxr, and Aitken. Messrs Young Bros, wrote objecting to the board taking metal from their quarry at Sandymount. — Received. Mr Txot wrote re ditches at Tainui.— The Clerk reported that the work had; been at'tend<ed to. Mr Jury wro^e asking the board to have the ditch cleaned a-t B-eattie's bridge. — The matter was left with Mr Biack to arrange with Mt Jury to have the work attended to. Comp)aints were laid before the boaid aa to persons leaving sledges on the publio roads, therefore causing danger to the publio traffic— The clerk was instructed io write to the offenders informing them that the board would hold them responsible for all da<mage. Complaints were received re the strayed! cattle nuisance. — The olerk was instructed to write to the owners informing them that if tho nuisance was not abated the matter would be put in the hands of the police. Mr Garr gave notice that he would move at next meeting that a- general rate of Jc! in the pound be levied on all rateable property within, the Peninsula- road district, the rate to be payable in one sum on July 5. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £14 2s.
