STOCK SALES.

Messrs Stronach, Morris, and Co. report, having held their usual monthly sale at the yards, Waikoueiti, on Thursday, 14ch inst. The day was fine, and there was the usual attendance of farmers in the district and also buyers from Dunedin and Balclutha. There was a fair yarding of stock, consisting of all classes, and these were disposed of under the hammer at rates which showed an increase on those ruling at our last sale. The following are a few of the prices obtained for the respective classes : — Dairy Cows — One cow, £5; one, £4 2s 6d ; one, £4; one, £3 15s; one, £3 10s; one, £3 2s 6d. Steere-— Two-year-old, £4 4s to £3 4s ; 18 months. £2; yearlings, £1 5s to £1 7s 6d. Aged cows and boners, 15s to 20s; bulls, £1 10s to £2. The day turned out very wet and disagreeable, but this did 1 not interfere to any extent with the attendance of buyers, which was up to the usual. There was a fair demand for everything on offer, and prices compared very favourably with those ruling at other centres. The stock were all in good condition, and forward bullocks fit for the coming turnip season were in good demand. The following are a few of the prices obtained : — Dairy cows in profit. £5 15s, £5 10s, £5. and several from £4 15s to £3 10s. Heifers coming to profit, £4, £3 15s, £3 12s 6d to £3. Cows with calves at foot, £3 2s 6d; 2i-year-old-sfceers, £5 5s to £4 10s; two-year-old do, £3 to £3 7s 6d; dry cows, £3, £2 15s, £2 10s, to £2; yearlings, 25s to 17s 6d ; aged cows *md boners, 15s to 20s; bulls, £4 15s, £2 105 to £2. SALE OF PROPERTY AND CLEARING SALE. Messrs Storanch, Morris, and Co. report having sold, on account of Mr Samuel M"Noo, of Waitahuna, his farm, containing 570 acros. to Mr J. K. Brown, of Moa Flat. This is a good property, having boen all limed and specially well farmed and being situated clo^e to the Johnston
