HAWKE'S BAY SHOW.

NAPIER, October 21. The spring show of the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society was opened at Hastings to-day. There were showers in the morning, but the rain cleared away in the afternoon. "The show ranks high among -the exhibitions of the society. In the number of exhibits it is almost at the top of a long series, and there are more horses, cattle, and sheep than for some years past. The animals make a splendid impression of the pastoral wealth of the province. The implements and machinery are exhibited in large numbers, the show being one of those selected by manufacturers for their displays. Twenty-five entries. The sheep-shearing compeition set down for the first day did not take place owing v to the wetness of the sheep, and was adjourned till to-morrow. October 22. The weather kept fine to-day for the " People's Day " of the Hawke's Bay A. and P. Society's spring show, and there was a large attendance. The* following are additional championship awards: — Thoroughbred sire, Mt T. H. Lowry's Fusilier. Hack, Mr Oswald Nelson's Montana. Shofthorn cow, Mr Douglas M'Lean's Rose. The silver trophy for most points in silver Wyandottes was won for the year by Mr John Currie, of Wellington."
