TIMARU.
TIMARU, October 26. Mr W. D. Campbell, the Opposition candidate for Timaru, addressed a crowded meeting this evening. He had a good reception. H<» cjevoted-an hour and a-helf to the Second Ballot Act and a short advocacy of proportional representation, giving as his reason that proper representation was the basis of good legislation. He claimed the vote of Labour on this ground. He spoke in favour of an elective Upper House (if any), and condemned euperaunuaticn schemes that were nob made s>eif-supp<crtin,g frcm tb,? start. A hearty vote of thanks was carried amidst applause.
