Healthy or Strong ?
We are sometimes told- that it is necessary to be proficient in boxing- as a means of self-defence ; but while systematic muscletraining has real advantages on the score of health, it is well to remember that for the overwhelming majority of civilised .men the real battle of life is not fought with footpads, nor in the prise ring, but with those invisible yet powerful foes we call germs,- whose attacks must 4>e met not by enormously-developed muscles, but by the body's^- natural- defences,^ in the form of rich, pure blood and a healthy condition of all the "myriadj of living cells which: go to make up . the body. So while, it- may be advke."ble in ■ some cases to cultivate brawn, it ie necessary for all to cultivate health and vital lesietanee, and iifiie is best done by 'bringing -every habit sinto conformity with- natural law 1 .
