Dr Chappie eddr€£<£>sd a crowded meeting at Ophir on Thursday might; Mr John Pitohce in the chair. The candidate's long residence in the district made his visit and address of specal interest, and attracted many from the surround ing districts. He spoke in the schcol in which Ive received part of his early education, and referred to local- inAtbera in such a mamnex that shewed that he waa familiar with the district's needs. He received a very attentive and appreciative hearing, and a vote of thanks for his able and lucid address.
