A moderate amount of business was done at Rangiora during the week, but wheat continues dull oi sale. Oats are also CaU, and there airo no alterations from last week's quotations. There as little ~ inquiry for -chaff, but bright oatsheaf is quoted ,«t 75s per ton. Discoloured chaff is unsaleable. , Very few potatoes are offering, and reports from northern, markets point -very little inquiry. Beet quality Up-to-JD«tes and Derwente are worth £3 10ft to £3 15s on -trucks. The inquiry foi ryegrass seed and clover is commencing. Value* vary acocding to samples. There ie a large quantity held in the district. ASHBUBTON. Wheat. — The inquiry reoorted last -week has oontinued throughout the week, principally from merchants. Millers still -seem disinclined to come into the market at present rates, holding that lower prices must rulo before they can oompote with outside flour.
