THE OLYMPIC GAMES. LONDON, August 18.
The Daily Mail declares that President Roosevelt has intimated that he has no sympathy with the complaints of discrimination said to have been made against American athletes at the Olympic Games ; but he is ready to inquire into the matter »» personally when the men visit him. He is pleased with Carpenter declaring that he is tired of the talk about British antipathy to Yankee athletes, for he saw none of it. NEW YORK, August 20. Hayes, the winner of the Marathon Race at the Olympic Games, on arriving at New York testified to English fair play, and Hol*tead also dieclaxed that he was perfectly satisfied, addinig that practically all the disputes were due to a difference between the British and American rules.
