LADY FINED £80,000
NEW YORK, August 21. Mrs Jack Gardener, who is prominent in social circles in Boston, attempted to smuggle into America £18,000 worth of art objects, alleging that they were goods which ehe had used in Europe. | Upon the detection of the fraud she was fined £80,000, and had to pay a duty of , £6000. The fine was immediately paid. (
