Glass buttons are chiefly made in Bohemia, where children are largely employed. The children get 5d a day, women Is 3d to Is Bd, and men from Is 8d to 2s. Pearl buttons are almost exclusively a Vienna product, but ehirt buttons are made chiefly in Birmingham, which is also the seat of the metal button trade.
